About Us

Pacific Airflow is a certified ECC and HERS testing company serving builders, HVAC contractors, insulation crews, and developers across Northern California.

We specialize in energy code field verification for residential, multifamily, and light commercial projects, helping projects pass inspection quickly, cleanly, and without delays.

Under the new 2025 California Energy Code, energy verification is more detailed, more documented, and more strictly audited than ever before. Our job is to make sure your project meets code the first time.

We are known for fast turnaround, clear communication, and understanding how jobsites actually work.

Specialists in multifamily and large projects

While we perform ECC / HERS testing on single-family homes throughout Northern California, we specialize in multifamily construction, where coordination, timing, and accuracy are critical.

From small developments to large apartment and townhome complexes, we understand how to keep multi-unit projects moving without creating inspection bottlenecks.

When you work with Pacific Airflow, you're not just hiring a rater — you're bringing on a partner who understands how to keep projects on schedule.

What we do

Pacific Airflow provides all required ECC / HERS field verification, including:

Blower Door Testing
Whole-building envelope leakage verification
Duct Leakage Testing
Duct system performance and code compliance
Refrigerant Charge Verification
Required for A/C and heat pumps under 2025 code
Fan Efficacy Testing
Fan watt draw and airflow verification
Airflow Verification
Measures actual system airflow against required minimum thresholds under Title 24
Quality Insulation Inspection (QII)
Insulation and thermal envelope verification
Multifamily Energy Code Testing
Non-Residential ECC Verification
Mechanical Acceptance Test Technicians (MATT) Commercial

For commercial projects, Pacific Airflow holds MATT certification — the California Energy Commission-approved credential required to perform mechanical acceptance testing on nonresidential buildings. MATTs are the only individuals authorized under Title 24 to complete the official NRCA forms that building departments require for final inspection approval. This cannot be performed by the installing contractor or building owner. If your commercial project needs a certified MATT, we're one of the few firms in Northern California qualified to do it.

All testing is registered with the ECC Provider (CHEERS) and accepted by building departments across Northern California.
